Cadet Forces Medal Presentation - Feb 2026

Huge congratulations to Chief Petty Officer Edwards, who was presented his Cadet Forces Medal at RAF Honington this weekend following the South East District Drill Competition. Chief Edwards was recognised by the South East District Officer, Lieutenant Commander Janner-Burgess, for his 12 years of service as an Adult Volunteer in the Cadet Forces.

Chief Edwards is our Drill and Marine Engineering Instructor at Sea Cadets Cambridge and has previously served as our Officer in Charge. Thank you for your dedication to the Unit and Sea Cadets Chief!

South East District Drill Competition Winners

Huge congratulations to our Royal Marines Cadets who competed at the South East District Sea Cadets Drill Competition, winning the Royal Marines Cadet category. The Cadets will go forward to represent 7 Troop at the X-Ray Company Royal Marines Cadets competition later this monthin Feb. Well done particularly to our Troop Commander, Corporal Champion who won the Best Dressed Cadet at the competition.

Presentations - Dec 2025

Our last Divisions night of the year on Friday saw presentations galore for Cadets from the Unit. Well done to all of the following:

  • Junior Cadet First Class Burton: Red, Blue and Yellow badges and SCC Row 2
  • Junior Cadet First Class Malin: Red, Blue and Yellow badges
  • Junior Cadet Akpan-Etuk I: Red and Blue badges, SCC Row 2 and advanced to Junior Cadet First Class
  • Junior Cadet Akpan-Etuk J: Red and Blue badges, SCC Row 2 and advanced to Junior Cadet First Class
  • Junior Cadet Crighton: Red and Blue badges and advanced to Junior Cadet First Class
  • Royal Marine Cadet Pasztor: RYA Youth Windsurfing Level 1 and SCC Offshore Sail Grade 1
  • Corporal Champion: Cadet Drill Leader and Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award

Mill Road Winter Fair 2025

Well done to the Cadets and Adult Volunteers from the Unit who took part in the Mill Road Winter. As an independent charity, we are responsible for raising funds to cover our running costs. We raised over £230 for the Unit through the tombola and met lots of potential New Entries and Recruits.

Troop Officer Visit - Nov 2025

On Tuesday night the 7 Troop Commander, Captain Galpin, visited the Unit and was able to advance Lance Corporals Champion and Kujawska to Corporal. Well done again both!
