On Saturday 26th January Fishguard Unit along with support from other Units in West Wales took part at the South West Area 5 Aside Football Competition at Bentham Country Club, Gloucestershire

Fishguard Senior Girls won gold and are now through to the National Event, which is to be held at the Grantham Meres Leisure Centre in Grantham, Lincolnshire over the weekend of 22-24th Feb

After playing 5 matches and scoring the majority of goals, all in very high scoring games, Ordinary Cadet Elin was awarded “Player of the Tournament” for the Senior Girls.

Fishguard Junior Boys have won Silver, again with some very high scoring games, but just losing out in the Final to Mercia District

We also had two cadets who helped make up the Neath Junior Girls Team, who won gold and are also through to Nationals

All round a great day for West Wales District

Commanding Officer Chris Peake said “ he was very proud of all the cadets achievements, and also wanted to thank Milford Haven, Swansea, Neath and Tenby Sea Cadets for their help in providing additional players. He also wanted to thank all the Volunteers who helped Train the cadets and look after them on the day”

We are very proud, once again to be representing South West Area at the National 5 aside event.
