MV Corinthian Ship Visit

MV Corinthian Ship Visit

On 27th July we had the pleasure of being invited on board the cruise ship MV Corinthian. This is the 3rd year of our association with the Corinthian.

We had been invited to have a tour of ship, cadets to talk to the passengers and Ordinary Cadet Mia played the Piano for the 100 passengers on board. This was fantastic!

Fishguard Sea Cadets took the opportunity to present the Captain with a Fishguard Sea Cadets Unit Crest, which he was delighted to accept, in appreciation of the Corinthian's association with Fishguard Sea Cadets

The highlight was the engine room tour by the Chief Engineer, he really took the time with the cadets.

The cadets did a great job talking to the passengers about who they are and what they do in Sea Cadets and it was a great opportunity to meet new people and develop their communication skills.

The cadets were a credit to the unit and should be very proud of themselves.

We would like to thank the Captain, Officers and Crew for their hospitality and also Grand Circle Cruise Line for allowing us on board and finally to Sue Blanchard Williams the Port Agent for organising everything.

We would like to thank Spar Newport and the AF Blakemore Foundation for their continued support. They have recently supported us in purchasing Waterproof Camera's for the cadets to photograph their activities on and off the water. They have also match funded the Abseil fundraiser and the total of this support amount to £386. We are so very grateful for their support in our projects. The cadets are seen here being presented with the Camera's by Assistant Store Manager Nathan Stewart, and he is also seen presenting the cheque for match funding to the Commanding Officer.
