FISHGUARD SEA CADET MUM CAROLINE RAISES MONEY...

London Marathon Runner raises money for Fishguard Sea Cadets

Caroline Martin a parent of Able Cadet Harry, recently took part in the London Marathon and  raised over £1300 which will be split between Fishguard Sea Cadets and Withybush Hospital in a joint fundraiser.

Caroline’s time was 4 hrs and 23 mins. She said she was disappointed not to have won! She undertook a 16 week training program which had her out in the best weather Pembrokeshire had to offer over the winter - rain, wind, sleet. She was delighted with all the support she was given right along the way ( highlights include her end of training run hot chocolates in the Ocean lab and the crowd calling out her name throughout the course on the day itself) and of course she was very happy to have given 2 sizeable donations to 2 great causes. She said she was delighted to have run the whole distance except for a stop to have a full blown blubber when she saw Buckingham palace.  Caroline also said “One of the most thrilling days of my life. Would I do it again ...... no thank you, it could never be that exciting again”

Commanding Officer Chris Peake said “Fishguard Sea Cadets would like to thank Caroline so much for her efforts and the fantastic donation, which will be used to purchase much needed equipment for the unit, we are all so proud of Caroline and her fantastic achievement”

Caroline is pictured presenting the cheque with some of the cadets, Commanding Officer Chris Peake and Chair woman of the Parents & Supporters Association Sara Murphy.
