We are delighted to announce that ET Ross Lloyd-Bennett has been appointed as Officer-In-Charge.
ET Lloyd-Bennett is a serving Royal Navy Submariner and comes with a wealth of Sea Cadet & Royal Navy knowledge and experience.

Last weekend (12-14 July 2024), Cadet Corporal Bea from our Royal Marine Cadet detchment attend the National Cadet Sergeants Promotion Board. The promotion board is a National Board attended by cadets from all over the UK.

We are incredibly proud to say that Cadet Corporal Bea passed and has now been promoted to Cadet Sergeant. On Thursday 18 July 24, 2 Troop Commander Lt (SCC) Bird RMR attended the unit to present Cadet Sergeant Bea with her board certificate.
This is an outstanding achievement for the detachment, as this is the first Cadet Sergeant we have had since opening the detachment.

Thank you to everyone for your support and dedication in making this announcement possible, as it means we can offer something new and exciting for the young people of Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth and surrounding areas to engage with.
It is with much excitement, that we can share with everyone that we are opening a Royal Marine Cadets Detachment.
Royal Marine Cadets is available for young people who are aged between 13 and 18 years and we also have volunteering opportunities if you are young at heart. Cadets will meet at the unit on the same night as our Sea Cadets, which is Mondays and Thursdays, 18.30 to 20.30.
Our juniors cadets, who are aged 10 to 12 had a busy day supporting Monmouth Rotary Club and Severn Area Rescue Association to install a litter boom across River Monnow.
Richard from Severn Area Rescue Association, also spent some time talking to the cadets about water safety including how to move through moving water safely and how to enter and exit the river.
