STOCKPORT SEA CADETS CELEBRATE 157 YEARS!

Sea Cadets from Stockport are celebrating the Sea Cadet’s 157^th birthday on June 25!  

We’ve been inspiring and challenging young people through nautical adventure for 157 years and we are thrilled that so many stars have wished us Happy Birthday.

We are the UK’s largest maritime youth charity established in 1856 and we work across the country in 400 towns with 14000 Sea Cadets aged between 10 and18.  Cadets learn vital life skills like leadership and team working via nautical adventure activities, and can earn extra qualifications which help boost confidence and give young people a head start in life. visit sea-cadets.org 

Ex Stockport cadet Spike Fone passed out as a Royal Marines Commando this week at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines.  Well done and good luck with your future career!

Stockport Sea Cadets took part in the Remembrance Sunday parade in Stockport.  We had Sea cadets, Royal Marines Cadets and Junior Cadets in the main parade, and also a guard of Royal Marine Cadets at the war memorial.  We also provided two cadets for the Mayor's escort and were represented by two cadets at the parade in Hazel Grove.  So a very busy day for all cadets and staff involved with T.S Hawkins.  All the cadets did a fantastic job and looked very smart, well done everyone.

Stockport Sea Cadets took part in the annual Trafalgar Day Parade in Manchester city centre.  The parade commemorates Admiral Lord Nelson's victory in the battle of Trafalgar 1805.

The cadets were inspected by the Lord Lt of Manchester and the North West Area Officer Lt Col Davies RM.  They all looked fantastic and did the unit proud. Well done everyone.
