The Mayor was guest of honour at Weston Sea Cadet Corps HQ in Sunnyside Road when certificates were handed to cadets and a special badge presented to Ron Roberts for his many decades of service to the local Corps. Cllr Crockford-Hawley praised the work being done to help young people reach their potential through Sea Cadets and similar uniformed youth organisations. He said "A huge vote of thanks must also be given to the adult leaders who without remuneration do so much to help today's youth find worthwhile ways of spending their leisure time"
