Goodwick Youth Bank Supports First Aid Trng

We are delighted to announce that Goodwick Youth Bank have supported us in our quest to expand and provide CPR training for not just Fishguard Sea Cadets but also for the whole community with the Grant towards the purchase of a 10 Person Kit as shown below. This will make such a difference to our cadets and community and support our ethos of giving our cadets and youth of the twin towns skills for life, which support the whole community and make for a better place to live. We are so very grateful to Goodwick Youth Bank for their contiunued support of our projects, which really do make a difference.

Delighted to announce today that the Rank Foundation have very kindly part funded our Classroom Tables replacement project

The Project aims to provide classroom tables for our 6 Classrooms, creating not just a superb facility for our cadets, but also for the whole community in which to learn new skills.

West Wales District Kayaking Competition

West Wales District Kayaking Competition

On Sunday 1st July Fishguard Unit competed in the above competition. The event involves Single and Double events called K1 and K2, in both Junior and Open Categories.

We had 3 second place and 6 third place cadets in alot of categories and again one of our bigger teams in the last few years.

We have a Gold Medal with LC Jake  in the K1 Open Boys Time Trial

We also came Second Overall in the Event.

The Commanding Officer remarked " I am very pleased with the progress the unit is now making with Kayaking, and we will have a bigger and stronger team again in 2019"

Bisley Shooting Team

Bisley Shooting Team

Cadets recently went to the Pre Bisley Training at Brunswick Camp, Pirbright, Woking, Surrey. The cadets has a great week learning about the rifles etc and lots of shooting on the range. The best were then selected to take part in the Competition on the weekend of 14/15th July. Cadets are taught weapon-handling skills as part of a structured programme of supervised training that emphasises safe and responsible use.

The CO, Training Officer, and 2 cadets, plus 2 of our colleagues from Neath Sea Cadets attended an RYA First Aid course today provided by PPSA in Pembroke Dock
