For the 4th year running Harrogate has passed an inspection which places it in the top 10% of Sea Cadet Units in the country and has been awarded with a Burgee in recognition of that achievement. Everyone contributes to the award, whether they are cadets getting qualifications, instructors passing efficency tests, management keeping all staff correctly through safeguarding proceedures and financed correctly, or everyone contributing to community events. You can be assured that your cadet is as safe as possible and well looked after at Harrogate Sea Cadets. Enquire about joining us at harrogateseacadets@gmail.com.

The fleet of boats

The Sea Cadet Corps believe very strongly in what we are doing as a unit at Harrogate. We sail at Ripon Sailing Club (nr Farnham) during the Summer and recently our fleet has been increased in size by not 1 but 3 RS Quests which are state of the art sailing boats that are specifically approved for teaching Sea Cadets. We also have a Bosun, 2 Toppers, 2 Rowing boats and a Power/Safety boat. We are not short of facilities at Harrogate Sea Cadets.

Cooking Skills are cool

Cooking Skills are cool

Never say Harrogate Sea Cadets are not multi skilled or multi talented. Most of the training involves a fun element. Everyone seems to be enjoying this particular learning package (although there are no recorded pictures of them doing the washing up when the smiles may not be there any more!!)

Team Building with a fun element.

At Harrogate Sea Cadets we don't just do waterborne activities or march around!  We can appeal to all youngsters who want to improve confidence and be valued. Here we see an evenings activities based around ideas from everyone and achieving the task together (and having fun at he same time.) We know its not school!

Jumble Sale beats all records!

Jumble Sale beats all records!

What an amazing morning we had on Saturday the 21st. Parents UMT members cadets and staff all pulled out the stops to combine well and raise money for our Unit. Everything has a value and everyone, including our treasurer, went away happy. Thanks to Starbeck methodist Church for allowing us to use their buildings, for all the people who donated items (including all those dads who probably did not know they had donated) and to those people who came, bought and handed over their cash!
