Our friends at Bracknell RNA has shared this story from the August 2026 edition of the Navy News with us with regard to one of our Royal Marine Cadets, Cadet Sergeant Evan who participated in the Tall Ships Races 2026.
This was a fantastic opportunity for cadets involved to embark on growing in confidence, teamwork and leadership.
Meeting new cadets and having to bond and work together as a team for the first time.
I know Cdt Sgt Evan enjoyed and learned so much and he was so grateful to have been given the chance to experience this once in a cadet lifetime opportunity.

⚓ Tonight – Leadership in Action! 💪
What a great evening for our Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets!
Tonight’s activities focused on leadership, teamwork, communication, and building trust. Cadets were challenged to think on their feet, take on different roles, make decisions, and work together as a team.
It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, supporting one another, and developing their confidence along the way. 👏

🚁 A HUGE SHOUT-OUT TO PO HODGSON!
Yesterday, PO Hodgson took on an incredible challenge, completing a sponsored abseil from the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel — 17+ storeys high and from one of the highest helipads in Europe!
All in aid of the London’s Air Ambulance Charity — an incredible cause supporting a lifesaving service that makes such a difference when every second counts.
From everyone in the Ship’s Company, a massive WELL DONE, PO Hodgson!
What an achievement and an amazing way to raise money for such a deserving cause.

Unit Trip to the Waterpark!
Last Friday afternoon saw some of our cadets and staff visit Thorpe lakes for a bit of aqua park fun!
Everyone had a blast especially the cadets getting one back on some of the staff and managing to get some of them in the water!
